Smart Designer is a versatile and comprehensive 3D CAD modeling software, which allows you to easily create 3D models of copings, crowns, bridges and abutments. It follows the “Cut-back” approach in dental CAD design.

The software Smart Designer is integrated into our scan system as a workflow solution. So is possibility to start the current scanned data set directly from the scan software. The system can read the open STL file format. The data of construction are also given as STL files. They can be used in any other open systems, like milling or rapid prototyping.

Achievement

Smart Designer follows an anatomic principle of construction. After scanning the clinical situation, the software creates a virtual wax model, which can be modified by the user. Based on this model copings, bridges, reduced crowns and anatomic crowns can be designed. The working approach from outside-to-inside’ makes sure, that the required thicknesses of ceramic and the demands of construction are ideally considered. Smart Designer allows basic constructions of copings and bridges up to 14 units. The design can be transformed in several ways, also material can be added or removed and connectors can be created and modified.
