Our company smart optics was founded in summer 1996. In the  beginning we were aiming at 3D measurement automation engineering technology for  industrial quality control and to provide adequate solutions in this field.

Later, smart optics extended activity into the area of dental 3D scanning as a further line of business. Meanwhile our company is an  established medium-scale firm in the sector of 3D sensor technology.

With more tasks there come more requirements to our colleagues. The scope of our scanners has extended, quality demands and production accuracy developed further.

To meet this there is a need for co-operation of motivated software  developers, mechanical engineers, electronic engineers and industrial clerks.

In smart optics, the cross-faculty competence does exist under one umbrella. Both Development and Production are on the spot.

So we can react faster our customer's demands or our customer's inventions and develop them swiftly.

Our company is located in Bochum in the heart of a versatile area from both an industrial and a cultural viewpoint: the Ruhr.

Bochum is one of the 20 larges cities in Germany and has six academia educational institutions. The 380.000 inhabitants of Bochum are part of the five million inhabitants of Europe's largest industrial agglomeration.

The traffic connections to the Ruhr and Rhein area and three international airports are very good location factors for a globally oriented industrial company.
